~Countdown to the Big Apple~
I have to admit, I am super excited to be leaving for New York in 2 days. I have been contemplating what outfits to wear and then a thought crossed my mind. Why not pack light and purchase a few things while I'm there! I literally have a laudry list of places that friends & co-workers have recommend however I seriously don't think there will be enough time to do all of them. But that's okay because I'm quite sure I will fall in love with the BIG APPLE and will undoubtedly return again.

~Slow & Steady FINISHES the Race~

Sound the Alarms I have something exciting to say, okay that may be stretching it a bit. However I'm happy to announce my first ever 5 K run is under my belt (actually it's the first run of any distance) with a time of 34 minutes. Next month brings Thanksgiving, black Friday, cranky shoppers as well as the Turkey Trot and as far as I know the girls & I will be ready, set and on our marks to add another notch in our shoe laces. Thanks friends for the awesome experience.
P.S. I did not see our pics in any publication :( darn maybe next time

~Fun's almost over Monday's on it's way~
The weekend proved to be just as busy as I had predicted. It was all about the family & that suited me just fine ;) Only 5 days until the Sunshine Run, I can't really decide if I'm excited or just anxious. It's more like I can't wait to see how much my body can take (considering I haven't actually trained for this event)! But for me it's not about coming in @ the top but simply completing the race PeRiOd. See yah at the FINISH LINE

~Anyone up for Roller Derby~
It's Friday and you might think I have a relaxing weekend ahead but it's actually quite antithetical. Tonight the family and I are meeting several friends @ the Skating Rink for a few laps around the ol' hardwood floor. Dave won't be participating in tonights events due to his still defective ankle. I offered to push him around on a leg cart but he said "No Thanks" I can't imagine why not? Saturday moring we'll arise right about the time my neighbor's rooster crows to set up for a long day at Pumpkin Daze. But not before Emilee's 815 a.m. (yes 815 that's not a typo) basket-ball game. GO EMME! We also have Olivia's bridging ceremony in Girl Scouts followed by our 2 hr shift in the PDZE booth, then Alex's football game @ 11:00 A.m. After my niece's birthday dinner, we should have a moment to catch our breath while we chill out at home for the rest of the evening. Woosh it makes me exausted just thinking about it. Oh the joys of parenting...I wouldn't change a thing.

Welcome Fellow Bloggers:
I just want to start out saying that my good friend Kelly is the one who convinced me to become a blogger. Already being familiar with the term and knowing the basic concept, I had never taken the time to read or investigate what "blogging" intalled. So it is with great anticipation, that I have now begun to record the events that go on in the life of "One Chic Mommy". I can't promise there will ever be anything more provocative or rousing than what kind of day I had at work or a brief description of my kiddos crazy antics...but be it as it may I have arrived...enjoy!
